US states of Indiana and Iowa legalise sports betting

Two US states, Indiana and Iowa, have approved legislation to legalise sports betting. The states are the latest to introduce such legislation following the federal overturning of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992, which banned betting on sports. There are now ten US states that have approved sports betting. Indiana has announced that 3.3% of revenue from sports betting will go to addiction causes, with 25% of that to be spent on treating gambling addiction.
