US state of New York and Johnson & Johnson agree $230 million opioid settlement

Johnson & Johnson has agreed to pay a 230m settlement to New York state to resolve a lawsuit relating to the pharmaceutical company’s alleged role in the opioid epidemic. The New York Attorney General said that the money will be paid over the next 9 years and will go towards opioid education prevention and treatment. A Johnson & Johnson spokesperson said that the settlement was not an admission of liability or wrongdoing.
