UK’s COVID-19 business closures frustrate drug money laundering

The UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) has reported an increase in seizures of both drugs and drug related profits since lock-down. The NCA seized around £15m in cash between 23 March and 22 May 2020 and reports that it has become more difficult for people to conceal illicit drug profits as cash-based businesses close during lockdown.
