Tobacco sales decrease by 36% in the Balearic Islands during COVID-19 pandemic
The Spanish Ministry of Finance has reported that tobacco sales across the Balearic Islands decreased by 36%, down from 86.6 million packs in 2019 to 55.3 million packs in 2020. A decrease in sales of rolling tobacco was also reported. The reduction has been attributed to reduced tourism on the islands due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
