Thailand implements plain packaging for tobacco

From 10 September 2019, all cigarettes in Thailand will have to be sold in plain packaging making Thailand the first country in Asia to implement this regulation. The new plain packaging restrictions stipulate that cigarettes must be sold in plain brown packets with standardised fonts, no logos and with graphic health warnings covering 85% of the front and back panels. Vendors in Thailand will have until 8 December 2019 to phase out old, and non-compliant, packets.
