Sydney to repeal night-time alcohol ‘lockout’ laws

New South Wales premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced that restrictions on alcohol sales in Sydney will be repealed. The change will enable bars to serve alcohol until 3.30am and will abolish the 1.30am cut-off time for admitting people to all venues. It will also permit bottle shops to stay open until midnight (or 11pm on a Sunday). The changes will be implemented on 14 January in all locations apart from King’s Cross.
