Rise in young people smoking in England during COVID-19 lock-down
Cancer Research UK has reported that 26.8% of 18 to 34-year-olds said they had smoked during the first COVID-19 lock-down, an increase from 21.5% recorded in Spring 2020. An increase in the number of existing smokers quitting successfully was also recorded. Overall, the estimated prevalence of smoking among adults remain stable.
