Police Service of Northern Ireland pilots naloxone

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is piloting a scheme whereby police officers are given naloxone alongside training in how to use the opioid overdose reversal drug. In the first few months of the pilot three deaths were prevented. The scheme currently includes 17 officers who patrol Belfast City and will be used to inform whether there is a wider roll-out of naloxone among police officers.
