Netherlands to ban nitrous oxide

The ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport in the Netherlands has announced that nitrous oxide (also known as laughing gas) will be added to the Opium Act. It will sit alongside hashish and diazepam, gaining a “List II” classification. The reclassification follows 54 reports of health complaints resulting from nitrous oxide use in 2018, a figure that increased to 67 in the just first six months of 2019.
