​Ministry of Health in Ghana increases alcohol and tobacco tax

The Ghanaian Deputy Minister for Health has announced increases on alcohol and tobacco tax intended to raise money to support the National Health Insurance Scheme. The scheme will record the names of all people with noncommunicable diseases (NCDS) including drug dependency. The new taxes are scheduled for implementation before the end of 2019.
