Many Canadian cannabis users still buy illicit cannabis

A report from Statistics Canada has estimated that 42% of people who use cannabis in Canada still purchase the drug from illicit sources despite sale and use being legalised for over ten months. This has been partially attributed to delays in licencing retailers meaning that legal cannabis outlets have struggled to meet demand. The report also noted that legal cannabis remains around $5 per gram more expensive than cannabis bought from illicit sources.
