Israel proposes ban on tobacco advertising in newspapers

Israel’s Ministerial Committee on Legislation has advanced a bill that, if enacted, will ban tobacco advertising in newspapers. Currently, newspapers are exempt from existing restrictions on advertising tobacco, partly because they have traditionally been reliant on funding from the tobacco industry. The bill is set to be considered by the Knesset.
