Ireland introduces restrictions on alcohol advertising

On 12 November 2019, the Irish government implemented a ban on advertising alcohol on public service vehicles, at bus stops and at train stations. The new law also bans alcohol advertising within 200 metres of a school, a creche or a local authority playground. Alcohol advertising at the cinema is now only permitted at screenings of films with an 18 classification, and alcohol promotions on child clothing items are also prohibited.
