International Tobacco Control Project urges Kenya to ban menthol cigarettes

The International Tobacco Control Project (ITC) has urged Kenya to ban menthol cigarettes following reports that 1 in 5 smokers in Kenya uses menthol products. The ban would see Kenya join more than 30 other countries and jurisdictions that have banned menthol tobacco products. The ITC has also recommended that Kenya runs public information campaigns against tobacco use and that it improves access to smoking cessation treatments to try to reduce smoking prevalence in the country.
