Indian territory imposes ‘corona fee’ on alcohol sales

The Delhi state government in India has introduced a 70% ‘corona fee’ tax on retail alcohol sales. The levy was imposed to deter people from queueing to buy alcohol following the end of a 6-week lockdown designed to slow the spread of COVID-19.
