Increased number of gamblers banned from Swiss casinos

The Swiss Federal Gambling Commission (CFMJ) has reported that the number of people banned from casino-based gambling in Switzerland in 2020 increased by 10,870 to 72,322. This follows an increase of 4,836 between 2018 and 2019. A CFMJ spokesperson attributed the rise to a greater availability of online casinos, adding that it is too early to tell whether COVID-19 has also had an impact on these figures.
