Drug use in Namibia increases

A rapid assessment of drug use and HIV transmission in Namibia, supported by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), has reported increases in drug use, as well as finding that young Namibians are experimenting with drugs at an earlier age than in previous years. The report highlighted that crack cocaine has become more widely available in the country and that drug use remains a high-risk factor for HIV transmission, particularly among sex workers.
