Decline in US overdoses

Data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggest that overdoses in the US have declined for the first time since 1999. In 2018 there were 68,500 fatal drug overdoses recorded, a decline from 72,000 in 2017. Although overall levels of overdoses declined, the data suggest that deaths from psychostimulants such as methamphedamine and MDMA increased between 2017 and 2018.
