Cartel battles over fentanyl trade in Mexico

Homicides in the Mexican state of Zacatecas have increased from 280 to 666 in the past 10 years. The increase has been largely attributed to growing competition for control of the fentanyl trade. Measures to stop the violence from intensifying have been hampered by a lack of police officers, with five municipalities reportedly having no police presence.
