Canada introduces border fines for cannabis
Canada Border Services Agency has introduced a system of fines to deter undeclared movement of cannabis and cannabis products across the border between Canada and the US. Cannabis was legalised in Canada in 2018; however, taking cannabis across the border remains illegal. People who provide inaccurate or incomplete information or who fail to report imported cannabis goods will face a penalty of up to $2,000 (approx. £1,150).
