Belgium to introduce tobacco plain packaging in 2020

A royal decree, published in May 2019, has launched plain packing legislation in Belgium. The new regulations are due to be implemented in January 2020 and stipulate that tobacco products must be sold in plain packaging of a standard colour (Pantone 448 C) with no branding and just a single use of the trade name. The regulations will apply to cigarettes, rolling tobacco and water pipe tobacco and allow for a one-year transition period.
