Australian festival death inquest condemns use of sniffer dogs and strip-searching by police

A coroner’s report in Australia that investigated the deaths of six young people from drug overdose at music festivals has criticised the use of sniffer dogs, saying that doing so increased the risks associated with drug use. The report also condemned police tactics of strip-searching young people on suspicion of possession of drugs, saying that such measures were disproportionate and should be only used when drug supply is suspected.
