Australia’s public health experts ask government for cigarette ban deadline

Leading public health experts and researchers in Australia have urged the government to set a date by which they will have banned cigarette sales, stating that “cigarettes do not meet modern consumer product safety standards”. The group also argued that the government must stop relying on tobacco excise taxes and find new ways to boost revenue.
