Armenia bans smoking in public places

The Armenian National Assembly has approved a bill to ban smoking in public places. The ban will be implemented gradually and is due to be fully enforced by March 2022. The legislation will cover smoking in restaurants and cafes as well as in cars and buses. Tobacco advertising will also be banned. People breaking the ban could be fined between AMD50,000 and AMD200,000.
