Call for Associate Editors
Addiction is looking to add to its talented pool of Associate Editors (AEs) to handle submitted research reports.
Expertise in addiction studies and experience of publishing with or reviewing for the journal is essential. The primary role of our AEs is to receive manuscripts from the relevant Senior Editor, find referees for the manuscript, collate the referees' comments and return a recommendation to the Senior Editor with your own comments. We use the online system ScholarOne Manuscripts to manage submissions, so all your work as an Associate Editor would be done through this system. You would be asked to handle no more than six submissions per year. As a token of our gratitude for your service to the journal we would offer you online subscriptions to Addiction and Addiction Biology. Additionally, the Society for the Study of Addiction (SSA) offers all Associate Editors associateship of the SSA.
We particularly welcome applications from female candidates, those from an ethnic minority, and people working outside the UK, North America and Australia, as they are under-represented within the journal.
To apply, send your CV together with a covering letter outlining why you are suitable for the role to Editor-in-Chief John Marsden c/o florence@addictionjournal.org. The closing date for applications is 30 September 2023.
